The SII developed BIRD-Liberia webpage in 2018 and hosted it for FREE in 2019 and since, they have always been hosting, maintaining and educating us on the usage and management under their sponsorships and facilitations which has brought us proud and current international recognition for workings.
Over the last four-4 years, BIRD-Liberia site is being managed, hosted and maintained by our good partner Sustainable innovation initiatives (SII) as well with mentorship facilitation in site management. From all indications, the SII aid and partnership with us over the years have eventually turned our tables in every good and perfect direction for Donors tracking.

Through their Training Mentorship, Maintenance as well as hosting with care of our site, we are gradually understanding the way about to publishing documents, Pictorials, videos by ourselves; an ideas which we never had before. We hope to strongly expand on the gained knowledge that we may use them to impact others in Liberia and outside of Liberia.
A very big thank you to the SII family for the funding and mentorship support which has immensely impacted our knowledge in Web-Management.
Anike Foundation and BIRD-Liberia Provide Prevention and Awareness Tips for COVID-19
Volunteers safely visited local households and discussed symptoms of the virus, as well as demonstrated preventive measures such as handwashing and social distancing. Working fourteen 4-hour workdays, and visiting with families in 10-minute increments, BIRD-Liberia volunteers were able to reach over 16,000 community members.
Brighter Initiatives for Revitalization and Development (BIRD)-Liberia, with support from Anike Foundation, conducted two weeks of COVID-19 infection prevention and control awareness in more than a dozen communities within Gardnerville Township, Montserrado County, Liberia. Through a team of six volunteers, communities were supplied with handwashing stations, foam soap, buckets, alcohol-based sanitizer and food items. Volunteers safely visited local households and discussed symptoms of the virus, as well as demonstrated preventive measures such as handwashing and social distancing. Working fourteen 4-hour workdays, and visiting with families in 10-minute increments, BIRD-Liberia volunteers were able to reach over 16,000 community members. They also shared talking points to assist families in discussing the dangers of COVID-19 with children, creating and keeping a healthy daily routine, and remaining positive amidst the current global pandemic. Families were encouraged to safely spend time together, continue to take preventive measures and to stay informed on updates through the World Health Organization and local health and government outlets.
Anike Foundation and Brighter Initiatives for Revitalization & Development (BIRD-Liberia) Bridge the Technology Skill Gap
Through a donation from Anike Foundation, BIRD-Liberia was able to purchase four used computers and a printer and hire a facilitator to conduct three months of intensive computer training for more than 130 community participants. Beneficiaries of the intensive training were able to learn Introduction to Computing, Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Access, as well as several other computer programs.
The Brighter Initiatives for Revitalization and Development (BIRD-Liberia) is a not-for-profit advocacy group that serves the Gardnerville Township in Liberia. BIRD-Liberia is a donor and volunteer-driven organization that partners with local and international organizations to assist in moving marginalized communities from dependency to self-sufficiency. Observing a skill gap among the youth of the community the organization serves, BIRD-Liberia administrators noted the difficulty of jobseekers in meeting the modern communication requirement of their jobs. Accordingly, the group proposed to undertake a three-month project: Gender, Youth and Children Educational Skill Training in Information Technology. “Many of our youth do not have basic (computer) training . . . and as a result, there is a serious challenge (for) Liberia when it comes to modern technology usage,” the administration noted. Through a donation from Anike Foundation, BIRD-Liberia was able to purchase four used computers and a printer and hire a facilitator to conduct three months of intensive computer training for more than 130 community participants. Beneficiaries of the intensive training were able to learn Introduction to Computing, Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Access, as well as several other computer programs. BIRD-Liberia volunteers hope that through this training, program participants are empowered to improve their power of communication through the use of information technology. Further to the organization’s goal of assisting in the self-sufficiency of its community, BIRD-Liberia recognized training participants with a certificate of completion for the program and training program T-shirt.
